The Shareholders

The five initial shareholders / subscribers of FMB are all qualified and competent professionals with cumulatively over 170 years local and international experience in the fields of mortgage brokering, real estate surveying, appraisal and management. The initial shareholders are:

• Karl Allison, Chartered surveyor
• Connel Steer, Chartered surveyor
• Lloyd Davis, Chartered surveyor
• Owen Pitter, Chartered surveyor
• Dave Pitter, Florida based mortgage broker

The shareholders, with the exception of Dave and Owen Pitter are also partners of Allison Pitter & Co. which is an established and well recognised local firm, providing real estate services and consultancy for local and overseas clients for over 30 years. The firm’s main areas of activity centre on land management, property valuation and real estate rentals and sales.

The establishment of FMB is a reflection of the vision and foresight of these professionals and is a natural extension of the use of their skills and resources.

The concept of mortgage broking is better known, accepted and applied overseas than in Jamaica. It is for this reason that the shareholding and input of Dave Pitter, a technically qualified and practising professional in the field of mortgage broking in Florida is particularly strategic and of great benefit to the company.

The Board

While there is provision for 7 directors, the initial Board of FMB is comprised of and served by five professionals:

• Eleanor Henry, Company Secretary
• Peter Reid
• Adrian Laidlaw

The Board is a composite of persons with a cross section of varied yet relevant experience, expertise, training and skills, important and necessary for the sound and strategic leadership and direction of this fledgling company.

The skills range include real estate management, mortgage general loan and venture capital financing, administration, marketing, strategic and corporate planning, human resources, banking and mortgage broking.
